(PRESS RELEASE) WIEN, 24-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Erste Private Banking has been recognized with two major distinctions by Euromoney, reinforcing Erste Group’s strong position in the private banking sector and highlighting the quality of its services in Austria and Romania. The awards acknowledge both the Group’s investment expertise and its client-focused approach across key Central and Eastern European markets.

In Austria, Erste Private Banking was named “Best Private Bank,” reflecting its continued development of tailored financial services and advisory capabilities. The division serves more than 9,100 high-net-worth individuals and manages approximately €50 billion in assets, while also benefiting from Erste Group’s leading position in the investment fund market. Its offering combines financial stability with advanced portfolio management and long-term wealth planning solutions.

A key element of its strategy is expanding access to private markets investments. Through a dedicated platform, Erste Private Banking enables clients to invest in professionally structured private equity and alternative assets, which were traditionally limited to institutional investors. The platform is designed to provide accessible, tax-efficient investment options starting from €20,000 per fund, broadening diversification opportunities for private clients.

At the same time, Erste has focused on enhancing its digital capabilities to meet the needs of a new generation of investors. With George Invest, clients can access intuitive and modern digital investment tools, allowing for seamless portfolio management and trading experiences that appeal particularly to younger and digitally engaged users.

Roland Jacubetz, Head of Private Banking and Wealth Management at Erste Bank Oesterreich, emphasized that the award reflects the bank’s commitment to trust, stability, and long-term client relationships. He highlighted the importance of close collaboration with Erste Asset Management in strengthening discretionary portfolio management and delivering structured wealth planning solutions, while also carefully introducing private equity investments to support multi-generational wealth growth.

In Romania, Erste Private Banking received the “Best for Client Service” award, recognizing its strong performance in delivering high-quality, personalized financial services. Operated through Banca Comercială Română (BCR), Erste Private Banking has been active in the country since 2010 and serves around 4,000 clients, managing assets of approximately €3.2 billion. Its presence spans Bucharest and key regional cities, including Cluj, Timișoara, Brașov, Iași, and Constanța.

The Romanian business distinguishes itself through a fully integrated private banking offering, combining comprehensive investment solutions with open architecture, discretionary portfolio management, and specialized services such as physical gold sales. Its advanced digital ecosystem, supported by the George platform, enables clients to manage custody accounts and trade a wide range of instruments, including OTC bonds, entirely online.

Ana Maria Beznoska, Head of Private Banking at BCR, noted that the recognition reflects both client trust and the dedication of the bank’s team. She highlighted ongoing investments in digital innovation, product development, and client engagement initiatives aimed at delivering long-term value and further enhancing service quality.

These awards underscore Erste Group’s continued focus on strengthening client relationships, expanding digital capabilities, and integrating sustainable investing practices, positioning the Group as a leading provider of private banking services across the region.
