Equinor’s BeGreen Subsidiary Brings 65 MW Ingerslev Å Solar Plant Online in Denmark

(IN BRIEF) Equinor’s subsidiary BeGreen has commenced operations at the 65 MW Ingerslev Å solar plant in Jutland, Denmark—BeGreen’s inaugural project since its 2023 acquisition. Senior VP Anders Bade highlighted that this step supports Equinor’s aim to build a robust onshore renewables business, now totaling about 1.2 GW across active and developing sites. With this launch, all four of Equinor’s onshore renewables and battery storage arms have operational assets. Danske Commodities will sell the plant’s annual output of roughly 68 GWh in the DK1 market. The facility’s rapid under-12-month construction—a testament to efficient project cycles—features over 100,000 solar panels and six transformer stations.

(PRESS RELEASE) STAVANGER, 20-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Production has now begun at the 65 MW Ingerslev Å solar facility in Jutland, Denmark. The plant is managed by BeGreen, a wholly owned subsidiary of Equinor.

Anders Bade, Senior Vice President for Onshore and Markets within Equinor’s Renewables division, commented, “This milestone advances our goal of building a profitable onshore renewables portfolio in targeted European and American markets. We currently oversee roughly 1.2 GW of onshore capacity, encompassing both operational and under-construction sites.”

Ingerslev Å represents BeGreen’s first operational project since Equinor acquired the company in 2023. With this commissioning, each of Equinor’s four onshore renewables and battery storage subsidiaries now has live assets in their portfolios.

Bade added, “Owning local businesses strengthens our capacity for value creation by tapping into their regional expertise and aligning closely with our trading arm, Danske Commodities.”

Danske Commodities will market the plant’s output on merchant terms within the DK1 power zone of western Denmark. Ingerslev Å is expected to generate approximately 68 GWh annually.

Remarkably, the project moved from groundbreaking to production in under twelve months, reflecting the swift development cycles possible in onshore solar. The facility comprises more than 100,000 photovoltaic panels and six on-site transformer stations.
