(PRESS RELEASE) BREMEN, 31-Jan-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Energiekontor AG, a prominent German developer and operator of wind and solar energy projects, headquartered in Bremen and listed on the General Standard, has received crucial building permits for four major wind park projects across Scotland and Germany in January 2025. These approvals represent a significant step in expanding the company’s project portfolio, particularly in the UK, further cementing Energiekontor’s position in the renewable energy sector.

The company’s first permit of the year was granted for a wind park in northern Scotland. This project will feature up to 11 wind turbines, each with a maximum tip height of 200 meters, generating a total of 73 megawatts. Additionally, the project includes a five-megawatt battery storage solution. Another permit was secured for a wind park in southern Scotland, which will have up to eight wind turbines, each reaching a height of 150 meters and providing a total capacity of 38 megawatts. A third permit was issued for another southern Scottish project, which will consist of up to 14 wind turbines, each with a height of 200 meters, contributing an additional 98 megawatts of generation capacity. Energiekontor also obtained approval for a 15-megawatt wind park project in Lower Saxony, Germany.

Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG, expressed his satisfaction with the permits: “This is a fantastic development. These four building permits are the result of years of detailed planning and hard work, particularly from our teams in the UK and Germany. Our project pipeline in Scotland has never been stronger, with 17 approved projects now totaling more than 800 megawatts in capacity. This is a tremendous boost for our business and sets a strong foundation for the new financial year, which holds great potential for further growth.”
