(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 26-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has agreed to provide a loan of up to €60 million to Yayla Agro Gıda, one of Türkiye’s leading food producers, to support the company’s green and inclusive growth strategy at its newly opened production facility in Niğde. The financing strengthens a long-standing partnership and supports Yayla Agro’s ambition to expand value-added food production while advancing environmental sustainability and social impact.

Yayla Agro plays a significant role in Türkiye’s food value chain, producing a wide range of products including pulses, rice, bulgur, ready-to-eat meals and innovative, high-nutrition food offerings. The new Niğde facility marks a major milestone in the company’s transformation, incorporating advanced processing technologies across areas such as freeze-drying, gluten-free pasta, and nutritionally enhanced product lines, with a strong focus on export growth and value creation.

As part of the investment, Yayla Agro will establish an on-site agri-tech incubation and skills centre designed to promote inclusive growth and boost youth employability. The initiative aims to equip young people with relevant technical and digital skills, strengthening the local workforce and supporting long-term competitiveness in the agri-food sector. The project also places a strong emphasis on gender equality, with measures to enhance recruitment practices, workplace policies, and career opportunities for women across the company’s operations.

Environmental performance is a central pillar of the project, with the Niğde facility designed around a comprehensive circular economy model. This approach will reduce reliance on primary agricultural inputs while significantly lowering greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption, supporting Türkiye’s broader sustainability and climate objectives.

Through this investment, the EBRD is supporting the scaling of innovative, value-added food production while helping to set higher industry standards for sustainability, inclusiveness, and resource efficiency. The project further reinforces the EBRD’s role as a key institutional investor in Türkiye, where it has committed more than €23 billion across over 500 projects since 2009, predominantly in the private sector.
