Dr. Jur. Théophile Margellos appointed President of the Boards of Appeal at EU’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market

30-7-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — The President of OHIM, António Campinos, has welcomed the appointment by the Council of the European Union of Théophile Margellos as President of the Boards of Appeal of OHIM.

Théophile Margellos is currently serving as Chairperson of the First Board (Trade Marks) and Third Board (Designs) and is the coordinator of the OHIM Mediation team. He studied law and political sciences at the Universities of Athens (GR), Strasbourg (FR) and Freiburg i. Br. (DE).

Prior to joining the Office, Théophile Margellos was référendaire at the European Court of Justice and Member of the Legal Service of the European Commission. He also worked as an attorney at law specialising in IP and
professor of law at the University of Picardie Jules Verne in Amiens (FR).
Mr Margellos will take up his post in October 2013.
