(IN BRIEF) DHL Supply Chain has announced a refreshed leadership team as part of its Strategy 2030 transformation, reinforcing customer engagement and global growth ambitions. Effective September 2025, Andries Retief becomes Chief Development Officer, tasked with building innovative supply chain solutions and aligning strategy with customer needs worldwide. Supporting this effort, Marco Brüggemann takes on the role of Chief Customer Officer for Europe, while Bremer Pauw is appointed Chief Customer Officer for Middle East & Africa, continuing as Managing Director for Africa. Together with DHL’s international leadership network, the new team will drive sustainable, resilient, and customer-focused logistics solutions across the globe.

The new appointments, effective 1 September 2025, reflect the company’s ambition to combine its worldwide scale with deep local expertise to deliver resilient and sustainable supply chains.

At the center of these changes, Andries Retief has been appointed Chief Development Officer (CDO). Retief brings extensive experience leading operations across Europe, the Middle East & Africa, and Asia, with a track record of building growth strategies and long-term partnerships. In his global role, he will oversee the development of innovative supply chain solutions, ensuring that customer needs are integrated into strategy and execution at every level of the organization.

To strengthen regional engagement, DHL has also expanded its network of customer officers. Marco Brüggemann has been named Chief Customer Officer for Europe, where he will build on his experience of driving major e-commerce transformations in Germany & the Alps, enabling customers to rapidly adapt to omni-channel demands. In the Middle East & Africa, Bremer Pauw will step into the role of Chief Customer Officer, while continuing to serve as Managing Director for Africa. Based in Dubai, Pauw will focus on delivering commercial strategies across some of the region’s most complex and fast-growing markets.

These appointments form part of a broader international leadership framework that links regional teams across Asia Pacific, North America, Latin America, and the UK & Ireland. Together with Retief, this global network will ensure DHL customers benefit from solutions that are not only globally consistent but also tailored to local market realities.
