Starker Impuls für die Entsorgungslogistik: 13 eActros für Brantner green solutions in Österreich

(IN BRIEF) Daimler Truck Austria and Pappas Auto GmbH have delivered 13 electric Mercedes-Benz eActros trucks to Brantner green solutions, enabling the Austrian recycling specialist to replace diesel vehicles and expand its sustainable transport strategy. The fleet—comprising eActros 600 and eActros 300 models—has been fully integrated into operations since early 2026, where it is achieving ranges of over 500 kilometers while reducing emissions and urban noise. The rollout is supported by Brantner’s investment in renewable-energy-powered charging infrastructure and photovoltaic generation, forming part of a broader shift toward circular economy logistics and resource-efficient waste management across its European network.

(PRESS RELEASE) LEINFELDEN-ECHTERDINGEN/KREMS, 23-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — A significant step toward low-emission logistics has been taken in Austria as Daimler Truck Austria, working alongside its sales and service partner Pappas Auto GmbH, has supplied 13 battery-electric Mercedes-Benz trucks to Brantner green solutions, a company active across Europe in waste recovery and circular resource management. The delivery includes three units of the latest eActros 600 and ten vehicles from the earlier eActros 300 series, all introduced to phase out conventional diesel trucks in Brantner’s operational fleet.

The deployment marks a practical move to cut transport-related emissions in the waste and recycling sector, an industry where heavy-duty vehicles are essential to daily operations. Brantner is now running the electric trucks across a range of applications including refuse collection, regional haulage, and transport between processing facilities, demonstrating how electrification can function reliably in demanding service environments.

Operational integration began progressively, with the vehicles fully embedded into logistics workflows at the start of 2026. Real-world performance has shown that, depending on duty cycles, the trucks can exceed 500 kilometers on a single charge. Beyond eliminating tailpipe emissions, the quieter drivetrains are contributing to reduced urban noise during early-morning collection routes—an advantage for both crews and residents.

The collaboration reflects a long-established relationship between Brantner and Mercedes-Benz Trucks, now evolving toward electrified transport solutions. Planning for the project started roughly two years ago, combining vehicle deployment with operational analysis to identify routes best suited for battery-electric technology.

To support the transition, Brantner has developed its own charging ecosystem. Dedicated charging parks installed at company locations allow the trucks to recharge within several hours, ensuring readiness for the next working shift. These facilities are powered entirely by renewable electricity, with expanded rooftop photovoltaic systems helping to generate energy locally and integrate operations into a broader sustainable energy network.

Electrification is being implemented alongside Brantner’s wider mission to treat waste streams as reusable material resources. The company manages an extensive European infrastructure that includes sorting installations, composting facilities, landfills, and a biogas plant, serving municipalities and commercial clients while advancing circular economy practices.

The introduction of the new eActros 600 also coincides with Mercedes-Benz Trucks’ transition to its next-generation electric platform, with production of the earlier eActros 300/400 models concluded at the end of 2025 as the manufacturer shifts focus to updated variants designed for broader applications.
