(PRESS RELEASE) LONDON, 4-Sep-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Bouygues UK, a subsidiary of Bouygues Construction, has been awarded the contract by the Department for Education to build the new St John’s CE Academy secondary school in Grove, Oxfordshire. The project, valued at £28.2 million (€33 million), will be carried out on behalf of the Vale Academy Trust and marks a significant addition to the local education infrastructure.

St John’s CE Academy will be the first school in the region to offer comprehensive education from nursery through to secondary level. The two-storey building, designed by Stride Treglown, will accommodate 600 pupils and will be constructed using sustainable materials, including a cross-laminated timber frame. The building will feature a green roof with photovoltaic panels, and the external infrastructure will incorporate sustainable drainage systems to manage rainwater effectively.
