He succeeds Hanspeter Oeschger, who will retire in March 2025 after driving significant growth as Executive Vice President for Switzerland. Switzerland, Bechtle’s first international market, remains a key focus, with 12 locations generating €505 million in revenue in 2023.

(PRESS RELEASE) NECKARSULM, 27-Nov-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — Starting January 1, 2025, Christian Speck will step into the newly created role of Vice President Switzerland at Bechtle, overseeing Bechtle Schweiz AG, Bechtle Suisse SA, and Bechtle direct. This appointment represents Bechtle’s third national vice presidential role, following similar positions in the Netherlands and France, as part of the company’s strategy to enhance its operations across key markets. Speck will report to Bechtle COO, Konstantin Ebert.

The move consolidates Bechtle’s previously distinct sales channels, IT System House & Managed Services and IT E-commerce, under unified leadership. This integration is designed to strengthen cross-channel collaboration, provide seamless customer experiences, and capitalize on operational synergies. Speck will also lead the implementation of an integrated multi-channel strategy across Switzerland.

Leadership with Proven Expertise

Currently Managing Director of Bechtle Schweiz AG, Christian Speck brings extensive leadership experience and industry knowledge to his new position. Speck, who joined Bechtle in 2016 following the acquisition of Steffen Informatik AG, has been instrumental in advancing the company’s IT services in Switzerland. Holding a degree in electrical engineering and an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen, Speck is also an active board member of HSG Alumni in St. Gallen.

“I am honored to take on this new role at Bechtle,” said Speck. “By integrating all our sales channels, we can provide Swiss businesses with unparalleled support on their digital transformation journeys, from smart sourcing to IT infrastructure and innovation projects. Customers will also benefit from Bechtle’s robust European and global capabilities.”

Transition from Long-Standing Leader Hanspeter Oeschger

Speck will succeed Hanspeter Oeschger, who will retire in March 2025 after a distinguished career at Bechtle. Oeschger, a co-founder of Steffen Informatik, joined Bechtle through its acquisition of the company. As Executive Vice President for IT System House & Managed Services Switzerland, he played a pivotal role in restructuring Bechtle’s Swiss operations and fostering collaboration across its companies.

“Hanspeter has been a visionary leader, steering Bechtle Switzerland to remarkable growth even amid challenging economic conditions,” said Michael Guschlbauer, COO of Bechtle AG. “We thank him for his immense contributions and are confident that Christian Speck will continue to build on his legacy.”

A Key Market for Bechtle

Switzerland was Bechtle’s first international market outside Germany and remains integral to its operations. Today, Bechtle employs over 1,100 people across 12 Swiss locations, generating €505 million in revenue in 2023. The company’s Swiss operations include Bechtle direct, Bechtle Schweiz AG, Bechtle Suisse SA, and specialist subsidiaries such as Apronda AG, Solid Solutions AG, and SGSolution AG.

With Christian Speck at the helm, Bechtle aims to enhance its position as a trusted IT partner for Swiss businesses, delivering integrated solutions to support their growth and innovation.
