Altran appoints Christopher Miles as Group Vice-President, Consulting Services

PARIS, 02-Sep-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Altran, a global leader in Engineering and R&D services, has appointed Christopher Miles as Group Vice-President, Consulting Services, effective September 1st, to lead the newly created Altran Consulting. Chris Miles will be reporting to Pascal Brier, EVP Strategy & Innovation. Miles was previously Vice President of Consulting Services at Altran North America.

In his new role, Miles will drive the formation of an engineering and R&D consulting organization for Altran, in direct support of the Altran 2020. Ignition strategic plan. Miles’ focus will be to bring together the best-in-class global industry and technology expertise of Altran into a unified set of practices. Altran Consulting will provide customized consultancy targeting today’s most critical industry challenges and will answer the “What should I do” question frequently asked by Altran clients with a ‘solve and hand over’ mindset. Altran’s Consulting Group will initially be centered on three major practices:

• Foundational Transformations
• Innovation & Design
• Disruptive Technologies & Solutions.

Previously, Miles was Vice President of Consulting Services at Foliage, a product development company which provides consulting and engineering services to accelerate the development of complex software-intensive products, acquired by Altran in 2014. Since joining Foliage in 2010, Miles has helped numerous clients in the medical, life sciences, semiconductor, solar and industrial equipment industries align their business and technology needs. These activities have spanned technology and product planning, improving product development trajectories, development of next generation architectural strategies and assessment of existing products, platforms and processes, and organizations.

Prior to joining Foliage Miles has held technical and senior management positions at NASA, Nellcor (Covidien), Advanced Bionics, Affymetrix, ESA and Dionex. Miles holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering both from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and has taken advanced courses in organization development and intervention from NTL. Additionally, he has developed or contributed to numerous U.S. patents and directly participated in the commercialization of over 20 new medical and biotechnology products including implantable devices, critical care and point of care monitors, DNA sequencers, laboratory automation systems and HPLC systems.
