(IN BRIEF) Airbus has secured a major order from AerCap for 100 A320neo Family aircraft, including both A320neo and A321neo models, marking the largest direct order AerCap has placed for this aircraft type. The agreement reflects strong market demand for fuel-efficient narrowbody aircraft and aligns with AerCap’s strategy of investing in modern, lower-emission fleets to support airline growth and replacement needs. Airbus highlighted the deal as a strong endorsement of the A320neo Family’s performance and long-term value, while AerCap emphasized its continued focus on fleet modernization and sustainability. The aircraft family remains the most popular single-aisle platform globally, offering significant fuel savings, reduced emissions, and enhanced passenger comfort, with ongoing progress toward full Sustainable Aviation Fuel compatibility by 2030.

(PRESS RELEASE) TOULOUSE, 18-Mar-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Airbus has secured a significant order from AerCap Holdings N.V. for 100 aircraft from the A320neo Family, including 23 A320neo and 77 A321neo jets. The agreement highlights ongoing demand for next-generation, fuel-efficient narrowbody aircraft and reinforces AerCap’s long-term investment approach focused on modern fleet solutions for its global airline customers.

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President of Sales for Airbus’ Commercial Aircraft business, described the transaction as the largest single direct order AerCap has placed for the A320neo Family. He pointed to the deal as a strong endorsement of the aircraft’s proven efficiency, operational performance, and long-term market value, while also emphasizing Airbus’ role in supporting industry efforts to transition toward more sustainable aviation operations.

Aengus Kelly, Chief Executive Officer of AerCap, stated that the order reflects the company’s strong confidence in continued global demand for highly efficient aircraft. He noted that the addition of these A320neo Family jets will help airline customers meet both expansion and fleet replacement requirements. Kelly further highlighted AerCap’s strategy of prioritizing assets that deliver improved economics alongside lower emissions, ensuring the company remains at the forefront of fleet modernization in the years ahead.

The A320 Family continues to stand as the most widely ordered single-aisle aircraft series globally, with more than 19,000 orders recorded. Its largest variant, the A321neo, offers extended range and enhanced performance capabilities, making it particularly attractive to airlines seeking operational flexibility. Across the family, the aircraft deliver at least 20% reductions in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions compared to earlier-generation models, while also offering one of the widest cabins in the single-aisle segment for improved passenger comfort.

In addition, all Airbus aircraft, including the A320neo Family, are currently capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel, with Airbus aiming to achieve full compatibility with 100% SAF by 2030 as part of its broader sustainability roadmap.
