(PRESS RELEASE) MARIGNANE, France, 15-Jan-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Airbus Helicopters has secured a new contract from the Ministry of Defence of Ghana covering a mixed fleet of helicopters that will support both military and transport operations. The agreement includes two H175M helicopters, along with one ACH175 and one ACH160, reinforcing Ghana’s investment in versatile rotorcraft solutions across defense, security, and premium transport missions.

The two H175Ms will be deployed as multi-mission helicopters, supporting a wide operational scope that includes troop and personnel transport, search and rescue operations, emergency medical services, and disaster relief activities. In parallel, the ACH175 and ACH160 helicopters will be dedicated to transport missions, reflecting Ghana’s requirements for high-end, efficient, and reliable aviation assets.

The contract also signals a renewed presence for Airbus Helicopters in Ghana, with an emphasis on long-term customer support and collaborative partnership. Airbus highlights the introduction of the H175M into Ghana’s fleet as a demonstration of the platform’s adaptability across defense and security roles, while the inclusion of the ACH160 and ACH175 positions Ghana as a leading operator of Airbus’ premium corporate helicopters in West Africa.

The H175, which entered service in 2014, belongs to the super-medium helicopter class and is designed to combine extended range and substantial payload capacity with smooth flight characteristics. These attributes make it well suited for a broad array of missions, including disaster response, search and rescue, public service operations, offshore and onshore transport, and a wide spectrum of military applications, as well as private and business aviation.

The ACH160 represents the latest evolution within the Airbus Corporate Helicopters family. It is recognized as the most technologically advanced helicopter in its class, incorporating 68 Airbus-patented innovations. The aircraft offers a significant increase in cabin comfort, with 20% more volume per passenger compared to previous-generation medium twin helicopters and windows that are 35% larger than those of competing models, creating the brightest cabin environment in its segment.
