It offers customers a unique and effective way to digitalize their manufacturing processes, making them both leaner and more sustainable.”

Sensorfact’s solution includes plug-and-play sensors that monitor energy consumption at the machine level and connect seamlessly to a smart software platform. Using sophisticated algorithms, the platform analyzes the data to identify opportunities for energy savings and provides tailored advice that helps companies optimize their operations and minimize energy waste.

Pieter Broekema, CEO of Sensorfact, expressed excitement about the partnership: “Our platform empowers customers to collect utility and production data efficiently, helping them reduce costs and carbon emissions. With our deep expertise in energy management and ABB’s global reach, we are poised to expand our solutions into new markets and continue to innovate in reducing industrial waste.”

The acquisition is in line with the findings of the International Energy Agency’s (IEA) report, “Energy Efficiency: The Decade for Action,” which stresses the urgent need to accelerate progress on energy efficiency to minimize the environmental impact of global energy consumption. The IEA emphasizes that digital innovation is key to achieving smarter, more effective energy management systems.
