CardioLogs awarded the CEPAME fellowship (California École Polytechnique Alumni for the Master in Entrepreneurship)

Introduced in 2013 by Vincent Worms (Class of 1971) with the support of the Friends of Ecole Polytechnique, the CEPAME fellowship rewards the most promising students of the École Polytechnique Technological Innovation and Entrepreneurship Master’s program. Amounting to $20,000, the CEPAME fellowship also includes regular mentorship.

Palaiseau, France, 24-9-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Vincent Worms comments: “From the heart of the Silicon Valley, where innovating ideas abound, I wished, with a group of other École Polytechnique Alumni, to further promote entrepreneurship at l’X and contribute to the development of the entrepreneurial spirit, which is one of l’X strategic priorities today. With the CEPAME fellowship, we help high-potential start-ups emerge. Nowadays it is essential to assist them in achieving success. I am pleased to see that CardioLogs, a start-up with high societal potential, will benefit from this leverage effect”.

Big data for heart screening

Brought to light by the 2030 World Innovation Competition and laureate of the JeanLouis Gerondeau / Zodiac Aerospace Prize last March, CardioLogs has just been awarded the CEPAME fellowship (California École Polytechnique Alumni for the Master in Entrepreneurship). This Prize is granted by the Friends of Ecole Polytechnique, the École Polytechnique Foundation sister US organization.

Led by Yann Fleureau and Jia Li (Class of 2010), CardioLogs aims to provide healthcare professionals with a reliable and automatic diagnosis tool for 2/3 the quick detection of cardiovascular diseases in their patients. CardioLogs develops an artificial intelligence able to automatically interpret electrocardiograms, delivering a real-time result. This technology is built on the latest medical knowledge in artificial intelligence. It was developed by the Cardiologs team based on data driven ECG algorithms from all over the world.

CardioLogs aims to help healthcare professionals interpret electrocardiograms, in order to improve cardiovascular disease screening and patient care.

The multiple award-winning start-up has been able to benefit from its recognition: CardioLogs recruited software developers and combined data from various bases. The start-up currently works with a database of hundreds of thousands of patients. This support allowed CardioLogs to set up clinical partnerships in France and in the US. CardioLogs is steadily growing while a first private financing round is planned for late 2015.

The awarded CEPAME fellowship opens up new opportunities to CardioLogs, as Yann Fleureau underlines it: “Winning the $20,000 fellowship will help us fund new data acquisition and prospect the American market. In addition to this financial support, the CEPAME fellowship offers high-quality mentoring and connects us to École Polytechnique Alumni based in the Silicon Valley, so that we may strengthen our activity in the US! This fellowship is really important for the team motivation: health innovation is usually slow, expensive and it requires dedication. The fellowship is a real timely asset”.
