Strategic Alliance Between Vodafone and Nokia Unlocks Advanced Connectivity and Security Features for the Developer Ecosystem

(IN BRIEF) Vodafone and Nokia are partnering to make advanced 5G network capabilities more accessible to application developers by integrating Vodafone’s Network APIs into Nokia’s Network as Code platform starting in April 2026. The collaboration will allow developers to build more secure and intelligent digital services with built-in features such as identity verification, fraud prevention and authentication, while also enabling future access to differentiated connectivity and location-based functionality. By leveraging Vodafone’s global 4G and 5G infrastructure alongside Nokia’s multi-operator API ecosystem, the initiative aims to simplify cross-border deployment, reduce development costs and accelerate innovation. Built on CAMARA open-source standards and supported by robust security and compliance frameworks, the partnership seeks to expand a global ecosystem of developers and operators while unlocking new monetisation opportunities for programmable networks.

(PRESS RELEASE) BERKSHIRE, 17-Feb-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Vodafone and Nokia have announced a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating the use of 5G network capabilities by application developers through the integration of Vodafone’s Network Application Programmable Interfaces (APIs) into Nokia’s Network as Code (NaC) platform. The collaboration is designed to simplify how developers access advanced network functionality, enabling the creation of more intelligent, secure digital services for businesses, governments and consumers.

Beginning in April 2026, Nokia will embed Vodafone’s Network APIs into its portfolio of anti-fraud and authentication solutions. Over time, the offering will expand to include differentiated connectivity and location-based APIs, providing developers with additional tools to build services that strengthen identity verification, reduce fraud risks and enhance digital trust. These capabilities will be delivered through Nokia’s NaC platform, allowing developers across multiple industries to leverage Vodafone’s global network infrastructure.

By combining Vodafone’s extensive 4G and 5G reach with Nokia’s developer-focused platform, the partnership aims to streamline application development across markets. Developers will be able to deploy services internationally without creating separate country-specific versions, reducing complexity and cost while accelerating time to market.

The NaC platform already connects more than 70 ecosystem partners and is designed to unify multiple operator API environments. It offers flexible integration models, layered API security and simplified access to network intelligence, enabling developers to innovate consistently across networks while maintaining compliance with privacy and regulatory requirements.

Vodafone’s expanding suite of APIs includes identity and anti-fraud capabilities such as age verification, customer data validation and real-time phone number authentication. Built on open-source CAMARA standards, these APIs integrate with modern mobile networks using widely adopted development tools and programming languages, supporting secure digital interactions in sectors such as finance, e-commerce and public services.

The collaboration also supports the broader goal of fostering a scalable ecosystem of developers, aggregators and operators while enabling new commercial models for network-based services. Vodafone and Nokia plan to introduce additional differentiated connectivity and location APIs later in 2026, further extending the range of programmable network features available to developers.

Further information about Vodafone Network APIs will be presented at Mobile World Congress 2026, taking place 2–5 March in Barcelona.
