Prosus and Nxt Museum conclude AI residency with public showcase exploring intent-driven artificial intelligence

The programme culminates with a public showcase on 13 and 14 September at Nxt Museum, featuring works by Farzaneh Nouri, Baast Studio, the UNI_VERSE team with Isabelle Udo and Sem Verbraak, and Feileacan Kirkbride McCormick. Artists described the residency as an eye-opening and inspiring exploration of AI’s role in creativity, society, and the human experience.

(PRESS RELEASE) AMSTERDAM, 12-Sep-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — Prosus, in partnership with Nxt Museum, launched an artist AI residency this summer designed to explore the cultural, emotional, and societal impact of intent-driven artificial intelligence. The three-month programme, hosted at Nxt Museum in Amsterdam Noord and connected to Prosus’s AI House Amsterdam, concludes with a public showcase on 13 and 14 September, featuring the work of four artists and studios who investigated how AI is evolving from reactive to anticipatory systems, and what this transformation means for human experience.

The residency provided a collaborative environment where artists could develop technical skills, experiment with AI tools, and conduct data-driven research. Prosus contributed access to real-world technology, datasets, and AI expertise through its team of data scientists, while Nxt Museum offered mentorship across art, technology, and academia. Together, these resources enabled artists to question and reinterpret the role of AI in creativity, intimacy, ownership, and the shaping of everyday life.

Each of the participants used the residency to explore how intent-driven AI—systems that attempt to interpret human goals and preferences rather than simply reacting to commands—reshapes artistic and societal interactions.

Reflecting on their experiences, the artists emphasized how the programme broadened perspectives on AI’s role in creativity. UNI_VERSE described it as a chance to imagine “a future shaped by AI that isn’t dystopian, but deeply human.” Farzaneh Nouri called it “a remarkable opportunity to delve into AI in creative processes through sharing and exchanging insights with a brilliant community.” Roel Kok of Baast Studio highlighted that “assessing our relationship with AI as artists is now more relevant than ever,” while Feileacan Kirkbride McCormick noted the value of questioning alternative pathways beyond mainstream technology.
