BAE Systems, Inc. Promotes Longtime Executive Tara Olivet to Top Finance Role

With a career spanning 20 years at BAE Systems, Olivet brings extensive leadership experience to her new role overseeing U.S. financial operations. Olivet succeeds Dan Sallet, who will retire in January after supporting transitional projects. (PRESS RELEASE) FARNBOROUGH, 10-Jun-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — BAE Systems, Inc. has announced the appointment of Tara Olivet as its new senior vice president of Finance, effective June 7. In this role, Olivet will oversee financial operations for the company’s U.S.-based businesses, which reported $16.85 billion in sales in 2024 and support a workforce of over 40,000 employees across the United States, United Kingdom, and Sweden.

Olivet will also join the BAE Systems, Inc. senior leadership team and report directly to President and CEO Tom Arseneault. Her promotion follows two decades of dedicated service at the company, where she has held a variety of leadership positions across the enterprise.

“Tara has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise throughout her 20-year career at BAE Systems,” said Arseneault. “Her strategic insight and unwavering commitment to our mission will be instrumental in driving continued growth and success.”

Most recently, Olivet served as deputy senior vice president of Finance. Her previous roles include vice president of Finance for the Platforms & Services sector, and a six-year tenure with the headquarters team as vice president of Internal Audit and Controller. She also played a key leadership role in the U.K. Aircraft Carrier Alliance, serving as finance and controls director for the program that delivered the Queen Elizabeth Class Carriers to the Royal Navy.

She steps into the role following the planned transition of Dan Sallet, who will assist with special projects until his retirement in January. Arseneault acknowledged Sallet’s distinguished career, stating, “Dan’s contributions over his more than 35-year tenure have played a crucial role in shaping our company’s success. We are grateful for his leadership and lasting impact.”

Olivet holds an MBA from Georgetown University, a BBA in finance and marketing from Ithaca College, and a Certificate in Accounting from the University of California, Berkeley. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
