Angelicoussis Group’s Maran Tankers Taps GTT for LNG Dual-Fuel Suezmax Fleet Support, Strengthening Sustainable Maritime Operations

(IN BRIEF) GTT has entered into a technical services contract with Maran Tankers, part of the Angelicoussis Group, to support its upcoming fleet of eight LNG dual-fuel Suezmax vessels, which were ordered in 2023 from New Times Shipyard in China. While these vessels won’t use GTT systems, Maran Tankers selected GTT for its expertise in LNG vessel safety and efficiency. Under the contract, GTT will conduct an independent review of Maran’s Fuel Gas Supply System (FGSS) and participate in risk assessments. GTT’s assistance will focus on the engine’s fuel supply system and Boil-Off Gas (BOG) management. (PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 31-Oct-2024— /EuropaWire/ — GTT has formalized a technical services agreement with Maran Tankers, a division of the Angelicoussis Group focused on oil tanker operations, to support the company’s forthcoming fleet of eight LNG dual-fuel Suezmax vessels ordered in 2023 from New Times Shipyard in China. While these Suezmax tankers won’t feature GTT systems, Maran Tankers has enlisted GTT’s expertise in optimizing performance and safety for LNG dual-fuel vessels.

Under this contract, GTT’s role will encompass an independent review of Maran’s Fuel Gas Supply System (FGSS) alongside a meticulous examination of vital documentation and engagement in risk assessments. Key areas of GTT’s assistance will target the fuel supply system involving pumps and compressors, as well as the management of Boil-Off Gas (BOG) through specialized compressors and sub-coolers.
