OBERKOCHEN, 09-May-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — On 27 April, the Best of “Business-to-Business” Communication Awards 2016 were presented in Berlin. ZEISS was one of the companies to be honored with the Award for its virtual reality (VR) project ZEISS IOL UNIVERSE, and its marketing materials for the ZEISS Experience retail concept earned it a silver and a bronze award.

VR app gives doctors virtual IOL experience
The VR project ZEISS IOL UNIVERSE run by the Medical Technology (MED) business group earned ZEISS and agency Publicis Pixelpark a silver award in the Digital Communications category. Using the VR app, which was developed specifically for trade fairs, doctors can delve into a virtual realm – the ZEISS IOL UNIVERSE – where they can experience everything that various ZEISS intraocular lenses (IOLs) have to offer thanks to different ophthalmic galaxies. The objective is to assign the correct IOL to the correct galaxy, or eye. This fusion of impressive visual worlds and gamification elements means doctors can discover the ZEISS IOL product portfolio with spectacular visual effects and through play.

Holistic marketing concept provides answers to all questions
ZEISS and the agencies ZWEI14 and Trend Factory were presented with a bronze award in the Credentials category, which honors the way companies, agencies and service providers all present themselves. Here, the jury was impressed by the ZEISS Experience – the retail concept created by the Vision Care business group for eye care professionals operating a ZEISS Vision Center – as well as the accompanying brochures and the VR app that underscores the benefits of the partner concept for eye care professionals (ECPs). This includes the use of the premium ZEISS brand, a business model developed by experts, and the patented store design. The three benefits will be presented and explained to ECPs clearly and concisely in three brochures – a Brand Book, a Concept Book and a Design Book. The three brochures on the brand, the concept and the design is an impressive holistic presentation that answers any questions ECPs may have. The store concept can also be discovered in the virtual realm: using the free ZEISS Experience VR app and the ZEISS VR ONE PLUS, they can experience the patented store design up close and browse around a sample store.

Best of “Business-to-Business” Communication Award
The Best of “Business-to-Business” Communication Awards are presented every year by Kommunikationsverband e.V. They honor exceptional B2B communication from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
