Verda Cloud to Expand GPU Infrastructure in Finland With Nordic Investment Bank Financing

(IN BRIEF) The Nordic Investment Bank has signed a four-year €22 million InvestEU-backed loan with Finnish cloud services company Verda Cloud Oy. The financing will support the acquisition of GPUs, networking equipment and storage infrastructure, enabling the company to expand high-performance computing capacity in data centres primarily located in Finland. The project supports the development of European digital infrastructure and strengthens the role of an EU-based cloud service provider. The expanded capacity is intended to meet growing demand for computing power, especially from artificial intelligence and data-driven applications. The loan is backed by the InvestEU programme under NIB’s Framework Operation Connectivity, Data Infrastructure & Digital Technologies. Verda Cloud said the financing will help it provide AI teams with faster access to scalable high-performance computing resources.

(PRESS RELEASE) HELSINKI, 10-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ —  The Nordic Investment Bank has signed a four-year €22 million InvestEU-backed loan agreement with Verda Cloud Oy to support investment in high-performance cloud computing infrastructure.

The financing will be used to acquire graphics processing units, networking equipment and storage systems. These investments will enable Verda Cloud to develop new servers with high-performance computing capacity, primarily deployed in data centres in Finland.

The loan is supported by the InvestEU programme under NIB’s Framework Operation Connectivity, Data Infrastructure & Digital Technologies. The project is intended to strengthen European digital infrastructure and support the growth of an EU-based cloud service provider.

The additional computing capacity will help meet rising demand for high-performance infrastructure, particularly from customers working with artificial intelligence and data-driven applications.

Ruben Bryon, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Verda Cloud, said AI is increasingly becoming critical infrastructure and that the financing will help the company scale its capacity.
