Veolia and EDF subsidiary Dalkia announced it’s the first energy services company in France to receive ISO 50001 certification for energy management

24-7-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — Dalkia has confirmed its position as leader in energy efficiency by becoming the first energy services company in France to receive ISO 50001 certification for energy management. The award of this international standard, which concerns energy management contracts and covers more than 27,000 installations managed by Dalkia in France, follows in the wake of the launch of the Dalkia Energy Savings Center, the first integrated energy efficiency management Platform.

ISO 50001 has been the global standard for energy since 2011. It certifies the actions taken and efforts made to improve the energy performance of any organization, company or public authority that undertakes a practical program of energy savings.

The certification, delivered by French standards organization Afnor, comes at a time when France is undergoing a national debate on the energy transition and how to transpose the EU’s Energy Efficiency directive into French law. For Dalkia’s clients, it offers a concrete demonstration of how the company turns its energy savings commitments into tangible results.

“This certification is the recognition of our commitment and expertise in the field of energy efficiency. Our goal is to constantly improve the energy performance of the installations that we manage for our clients, and thereby reduce the carbon footprint of the areas where these installations are located. Dalkia’s certification comes as a reward for the work of our personnel in France and underscores the value of our approach to making energy savings.”
