University of Liverpool announces the return of Meet the Scientists family friendly events at the World Museum, Liverpool

(PRESS RELEASE) LIVERPOOL, 14-Mar-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — University of Liverpool, a public research university, has announced the launch of its 2022 season of interactive ‘Meet the Scientists’ events at Liverpool’s World Museum this weekend.

Aimed at a family audience, with fun activities and demonstrations designed to demonstrate the global impact of Liverpool’s health and life sciences research, the new season begins on Saturday, 19 March with ‘Brilliant Bodies & Marvellous Minds’.

Researchers will be on hand with activities on everything from muscles, ageing and cancer treatment, to mosquitoes, mammal tracking, gut microbes, and much more.

Come and blast your way through our giant inflatable intestine, have a go on a keyhole surgery simulator and build your very own version of the MicroAge experiment, which was launched up to the International Space Station in December to help us learn more about ageing.

‘Brilliant Bodies & Marvellous Minds’ takes place during this year’s British Science Week, a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths.

Supported by the Wellcome Trust, Meet the Scientists is a part of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences’ public engagement programme, which also includes school visits, public lectures and running events at science festivals.

‘Brilliant Bodies & Marvellous Minds’ runs from 10am-4pm on Saturday, 19 March at World Museum, Liverpool. The event is free with activities suitable for the whole family. For more information please visit our Meet the Scientists webpage.
