University of Groningen Welcomes 12 New MSCA Postdoctoral Fellows for Groundbreaking Research

(IN BRIEF) Twelve researchers at the University of Groningen have been awarded the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship, a European initiative promoting academic mobility and research innovation. These fellows, working with supervisors from UG and UMCG, will embark on two-year postdoctoral projects aimed at enhancing their skills and advancing their research. The University has once again excelled in securing MSCA fellowships, with additional projects earning the Seal of Excellence.

(PRESS RELEASE) GRONINGEN, 15-Feb-2025 — /EuropaWire/ — The University of Groningen is proud to announce that twelve researchers have been awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship. This European funding initiative supports researchers of all nationalities and disciplines, offering two-year postdoctoral fellowships to foster academic mobility and the advancement of innovative research.

The University of Groningen continues to demonstrate an impressive track record with this program, securing 12 awards this year. In addition to the successful applicants, several other projects were recognized with the Seal of Excellence, which acknowledges projects that scored at least 85% but could not be funded due to budget constraints.

The 12 selected researchers, who will collaborate with their supervisors from the University of Groningen (UG) and University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), are:

The primary aim of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is to enhance researchers’ creativity and innovative capacity by providing them with advanced training opportunities, as well as international, interdisciplinary, and intersectoral mobility. These fellowships are particularly valuable for researchers looking to broaden their skill set, while senior researchers can expand their research capabilities and strengthen their global networks by attracting promising fellows from across the globe.
