DUNDEE, 13-Jul-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — The Institute of Sport and Exercise (ISE) at the University of Dundee will play host to over 60 talented young basketball players from across the country during the first Eurocamp Residential Basketball Camp to be held in Scotland.

Coaches from the USA, Hungary, Norway, Spain, Scotland and England will be putting the young ballers, including a number of local players from Menzieshill Madsons and Tayside Musketeers basketball clubs, through their paces from Sunday, 10th July to Friday, 15th July.

In what it is hoped will be the start of an annual coaching camp, talented players from all parts of the country will get to push themselves in a unique environment with up to six hours of high quality training sessions throughout the day.

The Eurocamp Residential Basketball Camps have been running for almost 20 years and are overseen by former GB team coach Dr Laszlo Nemeth.  The camps provide a distinctive learning environment for basketballers and have a long track record of successful development.

Paul McPate, Assistant Director of the ISE, said, “The University’s top quality sport facilities and on-site accommodation and social venues provide the ideal environment for such training camps. I hope that further camps will be delivered in future.

“This is a great opportunity to welcome a national first and we are looking forward to seeing the youngsters benefitting from world-class training right here in Dundee.”

Eurocamp Residential Basketball Camp takes place from Sunday, 10th of July until Friday, 15thof July.
