UniCredit’s internal digital collaboration platform winner at Efma-Accenture Distribution & Marketing Innovation Awards 2018

The prestigious award was given in the “Workforce Experience” category

MILAN, 22-Oct-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — UniCredit MarketPlace won the Silver award in the Workforce Experience category at the prestigious Efma-Accenture Distribution & Marketing Innovation Awards2018. The awards ceremony took place yesterday in Lisbon.

The MarketPlace is an internal digital collaboration platform, for all UniCredit employees, that directly connects people who are willing to share their skills and knowledge with the people looking for specific skills to get a job well done.

The platform, that brings people together to collaborate remotely using digital channels, allows employees (Assignment Publishers) to ask for help concerning a specific task or a set of skills – such as participating in research, gathering ideas, creating infographics, presentations, videos, websites etc. On the other hand, other employees (Skill Owners) can provide help thanks to their specific experience, skills and knowledge.

The MarketPlace is also one of the job posting platforms of the Group, giving employees the opportunity to enrich their career path.

The MarketPlace was developed in only 3 months by a core team of 4 employees from CEE countries, who worked remotely relying on technology and using agile scrum methodology. The implementation was also done entirely in-house, with a dedicated team of colleagues working full-time in Agile, using WordPress as the technical tool to build the platform.

A year after its launch, the platform – entirely managed in-house – is used in 13 countries with around 4,800 users actively publishing or applying for assignments or jobs, with more than 1000 post published of which almost one third completed. Recently the platform reached 1 million visits with more than 17,000 unique visitors from all over Europe and the current growth rate shows a stable monthly growth of 10%.

“At UniCredit we have recognised many opportunities, such as our pool of talents and their vast range of skills, their wish to act as entrepreneurs within the company, and our support of remote and cross-country collaboration” – stated Carlo Vivaldi, Head of CEE Division at UniCredit. “At the same time, we want to decrease our outsourcing costs and time to deliver, eliminate process inefficiencies, find in-house resources for different tasks, support the development and growth of our employees and keep them motivated: that is why the MarketPlace was born”.

“The MarketPlace provides a very simple, personal solution for connecting people  and enabling them to collaborate directly and get things done. It has quickly scaled up in the whole CEE region and beyond” – added Laura Bendekovic, Head of CEE Human Resources at UniCredit. “Moreover, it fosters engagement and creates a more inclusive workplace, removing geographic barriers and organisational silos, opening more opportunities for individuals and teams”.

The MarketPlace is currently growing, gaining further traction and being constantly updated with new features and functionalities. Next steps involve further expanding the user base and providing a better experience with diverse features, such as launching a mobile version of the platform.
