(IN BRIEF) TotalEnergies has signed an agreement to sell its fuel distribution business in Brazil to SIM Distribuidora, a company under Grupo Argenta. The deal includes approximately 240 fuel stations and several storage facilities. This move is part of TotalEnergies’ strategy to focus on core markets, although it will continue its lubricants operations in Brazil. The sale is subject to regulatory approval.

(PRESS RELEASE) PARIS, 19-Oct-2024 — /EuropaWire/ — TotalEnergies has reached an agreement to sell its fuel distribution operations in Brazil to SIM Distribuidora, a Brazilian company with a strong presence in the fuel sector. Authored by TotalEnergies, the transaction includes around 240 fuel stations and several storage facilities for petroleum products and ethanol. SIM Distribuidora is part of Grupo Argenta, which operates over 500 service stations in Brazil, along with lubricants and aviation services.

This sale is part of TotalEnergies’ strategy to selectively focus on core markets where it holds a substantial market share. While exiting the fuel distribution business in Brazil, the company will continue its lubricants blending and distribution operations in the country.

The completion of the sale is pending approval from the relevant regulatory authorities.
