TotalEnergies’ Cape Ann LNG Terminal Adds 5 Billion Cubic Meters to French Gas Supply

TotalEnergies’ Cape Ann LNG Terminal Adds 5 Billion Cubic Meters to French Gas Supply

(IN BRIEF) TotalEnergies has officially commissioned the Cape Ann, a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in Le Havre’s port. This FSRU has begun injecting natural gas into the grid, using LNG sourced from Norway. TotalEnergies has secured contracts for half of Cape Ann’s annual capacity, around 5 billion cubic meters, with the remaining capacity to be marketed as per regulatory guidelines. The Cape Ann FSRU is a significant addition to France’s energy infrastructure, with a maximum regasification capacity of 5 billion cubic meters per year, equivalent to roughly 10% of the country’s natural gas consumption.
