Deborah Zurkow, currently Global Head of Alternatives, to become Global Head of Investments
Andreas Utermann to retire as CEO and will be available to the leadership of the firm on an advisory basis for the first six months of 2020. Tobias C. Pross, currently Global Head of Distribution, will succeed Andreas Utermann as CEO of AllianzGI. Deborah Zurkow, currently Global Head of Alternatives, to become Global Head of Investments.
In 2002, Andreas Utermann started in Allianz to help build a world-class multi-boutique investment organization. In 2012, he has led AllianzGI as co-head and then as Global CIO. Since 2016 he became the CEO and establishing a globally integrated investment firm dedicated to active management. AllianzGI has built out its Fixed Income and Alternatives platforms, strengthened its advisory capabilities and established itself as a leader in Sustainable investing under Andreas Utermann’s management.
Tobias Pross has been with Allianz Group for over 20 years. He has helped AllianzGI develop its client-centric business strategy, which has seen it enter into and strengthen a number of its distribution channels and place a strong emphasis on advice and superior client experience. Since 2015, Tobias Pross has been a member of AllianzGI’s global executive committee.
In 2012, Deborah Zurkow joined AllianzGI to establish its Infrastructure Debt capability. AllianzGI’s Alternatives platform now accounts for over EUR 70bn in assets under management which its rapid growth was overseen by Deborah Zurkow. She supported the opportunity for institutional clients to co-invest alongside Allianz in a number of AllianzGI’s private market strategies. Since 2016, Deborah has been a member of AllianzGI’s global executive committee.
