(TITSA), has placed a substantial order for hybrid buses with Scania, adding to its existing Scania fleet. The order consists of 231 buses, including 173 hybrid units, making TITSA one of the largest Spanish or Portuguese public transport providers with a significant hybrid vehicle fleet. TITSA, which operates the sole public bus service on Tenerife, covers over 35 million kilometers across 180 island bus lines and carries more than 60 million passengers annually. The order reaffirms TITSA’s commitment to sustainability and Scania’s ability to meet its environmental goals. (TITSA), a prominent public transportation company in the Canary Islands, has placed a significant order for hybrid buses, reinforcing their longstanding partnership. TITSA, the exclusive provider of public bus services on the island of Tenerife, has relied on Scania for over 60% of its 600-vehicle fleet. This latest deal signifies their ongoing commitment to sustainability and their trust in Scania to help achieve their environmental objectives.

With an annual ridership exceeding 60 million passengers and a coverage area spanning 180 island bus lines and 35 million kilometers, TITSA places great importance on sustainability. The newly ordered buses come with a four-year guarantee, while the hybrid vehicle batteries are covered for seven years. Deliveries will take place over the next two years, with 135 units arriving in 2024 and the remaining 96 in 2025. Castrosua will be responsible for the bodywork of all these chassis.
