The Crédit Agricole group the first French bank to obtain BS 10500 certification for its anti-corruption system

PARIS, 16-Jan-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — The Crédit Agricole group is the first French bank to obtain certification for its anti-corruption system. This BS 10500 certification, delivered by SGS, recognises the Group’s determination and the quality of its programme for preventing corruption. It confirms that corruption risks have been correctly identified and analysed, and that the programme applied by Credit Agricole is designed to limit those various risks in line with international best practice. The certification covers all of the Crédit Agricole group’s business lines.

The certification work done by SGS came in two stages. In late 2014, SGS reviewed the quality of Crédit Agricole’s anti-corruption programme. Then, in the first quarter of 2016, it carried out an audit across 22 Group entities.

Obtaining BS 10500 certification forms part of the Group’s efforts to achieve excellence and manage all its risks, including extra-financial ones.

Jean-Pierre Tremenbert, Chief Compliance Officer, said: “This certification is the result of work that began a long time ago, and it shows the Group’s commitment to making compliance and ethics a central part of its development.”
