The ancient home of Confucius, the city of Luoyang, will launch its metro line equipped with thyssenkrupp elevators and escalators

(PRESS RELEASE) ESSEN, 17-Jan-2020 — /EuropaWire/ — Chinese historical city Luoyang in the Henan province will be launching its metro in 2021 by relying on 234 elevators and escalators from thyssenkrupp Elevator. The company has just announced it won the bidding to supply the district-free city’s first metro with escalators as installation of all escalators is expected to be completed by August 2020. Following the installation, thyssenkrupp Elevator will further on keep on providing Luoyang citizens with safe, comfortable and convenient mobility experiences.

Luoyang Metro Line 1 is planned to have 19 stops and will be about 23 kilometers long. It will cover the main passenger flow in the east-west direction to the north of Luohe River in the city of Luoyang. Furthermore, it is expected to improve the east-west passenger transportation in the downtown area to the north of Luohe River and enhance the connection between the areas north of the river.

Coined as the cradle of Chinese civilization, former capital of thirteen dynasties as well as the ancient home of the philosophers Laozi and Confucius, the city of Luoyang has plenty of history to show. It is also China’s first university city as well.
