Ten years of continuous performance improvement to benefit all customers
CANNES, 26-2-2015 — /EuropaWire/ — Ten years ago, Thales Alenia Space began to apply CMMI® (Capability Maturity Model Integration), the international standard that recognizes the performance and maturity of industrial organizations, at all facilities and in all countries where the company operates, across all of its business sectors. Thales Alenia Space was the first European satellite manufacturer to earn CMMI® Level 3 accreditation, at the end of 2008, and this accreditation has now been renewed for three years. Thales Alenia Space also took advantage of its annual audit for quality, environment, security and occupational safety certifications to verify the compliance of its management system with the new NATO standard (AQAP 2310) concerning quality management systems for aerospace products.
“These certifications clearly reflect our commitment to continuously improving customer satisfaction,” said Jean-Marc Payssé, director of the quality management system at Thales Alenia Space. “They are part of our approach to the continuous improvement of quality and performance, within the scope of the Thales group’s sustainable development initiative. For our customers, working with a CMMI Level 3-certified company guarantees the on-time delivery of high-quality products, fully in line with specifications.
CMMI covers all engineering and project management processes, along with configuration management, quality assurance and quality management system practices. Thales Alenia Space was assessed at CMMI Level 3 for all practices defined in a model dedicated to the development of products and services, as well as for the model dedicated to the acquisition of products and services.
