This global benchmark for innovation is based on the number of patents filed, their success, and level of influence, and includes a total of 22 European companies and institutions.

This recognition marks the 10th time Thales has been listed in the Top 100 Global Innovators, acknowledging the company’s unique strategy of innovation for dual civil and military markets and its critical role in developing systems that impact the safety and security of individuals, countries, and infrastructure.

Thales’ innovation potential is underpinned by the work of 3,000 researchers and 30,000 engineers in research and development. Each year, the company invests 4 billion euros in R&D, with 1 billion euros self-financed. Thales files between 350 and 400 new patents annually and currently holds a portfolio of 20,000 patents.
