Tesco trend experts announced their Christmas toy wish list

Cheshunt, UK, 19-12-2013 — /EuropaWire/ — It will be a case of old school versus new school in the battle for this year’s Christmas toy market.

New versions of 90’s favourites Furby and Teksta will be up against kids’ tablets LeapPad Ultra and Innotab 3S, while evergreen Lego is also expected to have a very strong presence this year.

That’s the prediction of trend experts at Tesco – who have announced their Christmas toy wish list.

Tesco toy buyer Laura Metcalfe said:  “Electronic toys will be in great demand with children’s tablets such as the LeapPad Ultra and Innotab 3S expecting to be on many children’s toy lists.

“We expect  to see quite a few familiar names on wish lists such as 90s favourites Furby, Teskta and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and think the new Furby Boom, will be the toy most children hope to find wrapped up under the Christmas tree.

“Lego will also be extremely popular this Christmas judging from strong sales throughout the year. It has a universal appeal that can bring the whole family together and for that reason we think that many parents will include a Lego toy in their shopping list.”

Tesco’s experts say that characters from films such as Planes, Monsters University, and Little Mermaid will prove a popular choice on children’s wish lists as well as toys associated with children’s TV programmes such as Doc McStuffins and Peppa Pig.
