(PRESS RELEASE) BERN, 13-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Swisscom is expanding its presence in physical retail by making its products available in Swiss MediaMarkt branches for the first time.

Sales will begin tomorrow, Friday, 14 August 2026, at the MediaMarkt branch in Dietlikon, Zurich, before the partnership is extended to nine additional strategic MediaMarkt locations in Switzerland over the coming weeks.

The move strengthens Swisscom’s access to customers in brick-and-mortar retail and brings its telecommunications services into one of Switzerland’s leading electronics retail networks.

MediaMarkt offers Swisscom access to a broad customer base with strong interest in telecommunications products and consumer technology.

Through the partnership, customers will be able to receive advice on the Swisscom and Wingo brand portfolios in dedicated areas within selected MediaMarkt branches.

Customers will also be able to sign contracts in-store if they choose to do so.

Dirk Wierzbitzki, Head of Residential Customers and member of the Executive Committee of Swisscom Switzerland, said the partnership with MediaMarkt will make it easier for customers to discover Swisscom products in a retail environment they already use for shopping and information.

He said customer focus remains central for Swisscom, with the partnership offering personal advice, opportunities for direct comparison and easier access to solutions covering mobile, Internet, TV and security.

Wierzbitzki added that the arrangement strengthens Swisscom’s customer proximity and creates an experience suited to people’s needs when they are looking for advice.

Vittorio Buonfiglio, CEO of MediaMarkt Switzerland and Austria, said the partnership brings one of the strongest and most trusted brands in the Swiss market into MediaMarkt stores.

He said customers will benefit from a wider range of solutions across mobile, Internet and TV, as well as expert advice and easy access to attractive offers directly in MediaMarkt branches.

Focus on advice and customer experience

The new retail setup is designed to provide customers with personal support when choosing telecommunications products and services.

Dedicated spaces in participating MediaMarkt branches will allow customers to compare Swisscom and Wingo solutions and receive guidance from staff.

The rollout will begin at the MediaMarkt branch in Dietlikon (ZH) on 14 August 2026.

Over the following weeks, Swisscom products and advisory spaces will be introduced at MediaMarkt branches in Lyssach (BE), Basel SBB (BS), Carouge (GE), Meyrin (GE), Kriens (LU), St. Gallen (SG), Crissier (VD), Dietikon (ZH) and Zurich Sihlcity (ZH).

Through the partnership, Swisscom is strengthening its retail presence while giving customers new ways to access telecommunications products, compare offers and receive in-person advice in high-traffic electronics retail locations across Switzerland.
