Successful voestalpine Cares Run Raises €700,000 for Charitable Initiatives

With over 5,700 employees from more than 40 countries participating in physical activities like running and hiking, the campaign promoted health and social responsibility under the theme “moving together and doing good.” Participants used an app to collect points, which were converted into donations for organizations such as Doctors Without Borders, Hilfswerk International, the Austrian Red Cross, and UNICEF. Under the theme “moving together and doing good,” this year’s initiative saw voestalpine employees from over 40 countries engage in various physical activities, including running, walking, hiking, handcycling, and wheelchairing, over a three-month campaign. Participants utilized a dedicated app to accumulate digital points called “cares,” which were then converted into donations for selected charitable organizations.

In total, the voestalpine cares run generated an impressive donation of €700,000, which has been distributed to several prominent aid organizations, including Doctors Without Borders, Hilfswerk International, the Austrian Red Cross, and UNICEF. These funds will support vital national and international projects aimed at improving lives across the globe.

With more than 5,700 employees participating, the campaign saw a collective effort that resulted in nearly 956,000 kilometers covered, demonstrating a strong commitment to both health and social responsibility.

• Digital Learning Center: UNICEF’s program for Ukrainian children ensures they can access educational resources despite ongoing conflict.
• Humanitarian Aid: Hilfswerk International distributes emergency aid packages, including food, essentials, and warm clothing to families in need.
• Mobile Clinics: Doctors Without Borders deploys mobile clinics in Ukraine, providing psychological and medical support while aiding in the reconstruction of healthcare facilities.
• Disaster Emergency Aid (RISK kits): The Rapid Intervention Surgical Kit from Doctors Without Borders enables rapid deployment of surgical capabilities in emergency situations, even in hard-to-reach areas.
• Learning Centers for Children and Teenagers: The Austrian Red Cross operates learning centers across twelve locations in Austria, helping disadvantaged youth access educational opportunities that match their skills.
