(PRESS RELEASE) GRAZ, 28-Mar-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — ANDRITZ GROUP, Austria-based international technology group active in the supplies of plants, has announced the successful start of the new galvanizing line the company supplied to Nucor Steel Arkansas in Hickman, Arkansas, USA. Nucor Steel Arkansas is a division of Nucor Corporation and produces hot rolled, cold rolled, and coated sheet steel.
The new ANDRITZ state-of-the art galvanizing line has a capacity of 500,000 t/y and produces high-strength coated products for the automotive industry. ANDRITZ engineered the complete mechanical equipment, supplied electrical and automation equipment, and provided on-site installation and commissioning services.
After having achieved this major project milestone, ANDRITZ and NUCOR are now fine-tuning and optimizing the production process to achieve full production of top-quality products.
Nucor Corporation is the largest producer of steel and steel products in the United States and operates a total of over 300 facilities in North America, including 25 scrap-based steel mills that have an annual production capacity of more than 24,000,000 tons.
