STRABAG Property and Facility Services GmbH to provide technical management and secure energy supply for two more computer centres of major companies

Management mandates for a total of 38 computer centres with an annual revenue volume of over EUR 30 million – and rising.

Frankfurt (Main), 15-8-2014 — /EuropaWire/ — In the last few weeks, STRABAG Property and Facility Services GmbH (STRABAG PFS) has been commissioned to provide technical management and a secure energy supply for two more computer centres of major companies. STRABAG PFS has taken on complete technical facility management for the main and back-up computer centre of Voith IT Solutions GmbH in Heidenheim. Starting on 1 July 2014, the contract is set to run for an initial five years. Thereafter, it can be extended for a year at a time. A three-year operating agreement starting on 1 January 2015 with an extension option has been concluded with a major German trading company for its main European computer centre. The company involved does not wish to be named. The agreed services also comprise complete technical facility management. In both cases, the parties have agreed not to disclose the contract volume.

A crucial factor for both clients is the assurance of “maximum availability” of the computer centres, i.e. uninterrupted, fault-free power supply and a constant temperature wherever the sensitive server systems are housed. “This is a service that we have been providing reliably for telecommunications companies and banks for decades with a failure probability of less than 0.01%”, said Dirk Brandt, Managing Director of STRABAG PFS, who is responsible for technical facility management and building management. “With increasing success, we can also offer this technical expertise to new clients such as banks, trading companies, IT infrastructure companies and energy providers, as their business models are necessarily geared towards fault-free operation of their computer centres in the ever more digitised world of cloud computing”.

In the last twelve months, STRABAG PFS has acquired new management mandates for seven computer centres. In total, with 250 employees, including 90 trained specialists, STRABAG PFS currently supports 38 computer centres with an annual total order volume of over EUR 30 million.
