FRANKFURT AM MAIN, 12-Nov-2018 — /EuropaWire/ — STRABAG Property and Facility Services (STRABAG PFS) has won a tender issued by the German air-traffic control body DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH. As of 1 May 2019, it will take on technical facility management for the “Upper Area Control Centre” cluster in Karlsruhe. The contract was entered into for three years and formally signed at this year’s EXPO REAL. The parties have agreed to not disclose the volume of the contract.

“DFS is a long-standing and very technologically demanding customer. Including Karlsruhe, the number of properties and towers we manage will increase to 165, which represents the vast majority of DFS’s locations in Germany. The aim is to ensure that air-traffic control operations and air navigation service technology run smoothly,” says Dirk Brandt, head of the Technical Facility Management department at STRABAG PFS.

The contract award was preceded by a Europe-wide invitation to tender for DFS’s Karlsruhe location, which consists of a control centre with a reception building and annexes as well as several communication locations. The agreed services include taking on operator responsibility and operating, maintaining and ensuring the availability of all facility and operating technology systems with maximum availability and 24/7 on-call service. DFS has been a customer of STRABAG PFS since 2013.
