PRINCETON, 30-Mar-2016 — /EuropaWire/ — Solvay will showcase its line of high-efficiency dispersants for water-based pigment concentrates and its line of APE-free surfactants and emulsifiers during the 2016 American Coatings Show in Indianapolis.
The Rhodoline® 3000 and Rhodoline® 4000 series of wetting agents and dispersants are APE- and VOC-free additives that provide exceptional color strength development, exceptional color acceptance upon tinting and improved stability in developing formulations intended for different segments, such as architectural paints, industrial coatings and printing inks.
The Rhodoline® 3000 and Rhodoline® 4000 series contains low levels of volatile organic compounds and are free of alkyl phenols, expanding Solvay’s sustainable solutions portfolio.
“Solvay has been a global leader in emulsion polymerization enabling the conversion to water-based systems with specialty surfactants and monomers,” said Solvay Coatings Regional Market Director Doug Nelson. “Solvay’s understanding of surface chemistry, combined with having the right building blocks to develop effective, tailored additive solutions enables us to deliver customized formulations that further boost performance in a variety of coatings applications.”
In fact, Solvay’s growth strategy is designed to provide customers with superior service and flexible solutions. For example, Solvay’s recent acquisition of Cytec further expands the company’s specialty additives and surfactants portfolio for the coatings industry. In addition, its new on-pipe alkoxylation facility in Pasadena, Texas provides a secure, reliable and long-term source to answer the regional and global growing demand for specialty surfactants.
Solvay’s featured products at ACS 2016 are part of three main solutions:
- Color Solutions, including the Rhodoline® series
- Binder Solutions, including Rhodafac®, Rhodapex® and Aerosol® surfactant solutions along with the Sipomer® series of functional monomers
- Performance Solutions, including Rhodoline® OTE 500, which extends open time and
Rhodoline® FT 100, which improves freeze-thaw stability.
