Škoda Peaq Production Highlights Flexible Manufacturing Across EV and Combustion Models

(IN BRIEF) Škoda Auto has started series production of the all-new Škoda Peaq, an all-electric seven-seater SUV, at its main plant in Mladá Boleslav. The Peaq is being built on the same line as the Elroq, Enyaq and Octavia, highlighting Škoda’s flexible production setup. The line was originally designed for combustion-engine vehicles but has been upgraded to support electric models. The Peaq is Škoda’s largest and most spacious SUV, measuring 4.87 metres in length, and offers a top battery specification of 91 kWh gross capacity with a range of more than 640 kilometres. Together with the Epiq, produced in Pamplona, Spain, the Peaq doubles Škoda’s all-electric portfolio in 2026.

(PRESS RELEASE) MLADÁ BOLESLAV, 6-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Škoda Auto has launched series production of the all-new Škoda Peaq, the brand’s all-electric seven-seater and its largest model, at the company’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav.

The new model is being produced on the same line as the fully electric Elroq and Enyaq, as well as the combustion-engine Octavia.

Škoda said this production setup demonstrates the flexibility and efficiency of its manufacturing operations, enabling the company to respond more quickly to shifts in customer demand.

The Peaq has attracted strong customer interest since its market launch in June 2026.

By the end of July, Škoda Auto had received almost 8,500 orders for the new electric SUV.

In its top specification, the Peaq is fitted with the largest traction battery ever installed in a Škoda vehicle.

The battery has a gross capacity of 91 kWh and enables a driving range of more than 640 kilometres.

Škoda Auto also produces the advanced battery systems for the Peaq at its new assembly plant in Mladá Boleslav.

Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Chief Production Officer, said the new Peaq represents the top of the company’s range in terms of comfort, spaciousness and technology.

He said the production process also meets high standards for quality, efficiency and flexibility.

Dick added that producing four models on one line, including three fully electric vehicles, demonstrates the skill and versatility of the Mladá Boleslav team.

He said the plant is well prepared for production of the new flagship following the modifications carried out by employees.

The Peaq is the fourth model currently built on the production line at Škoda Auto’s main plant.

The line was originally designed for combustion-engine vehicles but has been extensively upgraded to accommodate fully electric models.

The Enyaq became the first electric model produced on the line in 2020, followed by the Elroq in January 2025 and now the Peaq.

The three all-electric models are produced alongside the Octavia Combi.

Since May 2026, the Octavia Combi has also been produced at the Kvasiny plant, together with the Octavia liftback.

This arrangement gives Škoda Auto additional flexibility to adjust production between Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny in response to market demand and potential global supply chain disruptions.

The move has also created more capacity at Mladá Boleslav for electric vehicles.

In the first half of 2026, fully electric models accounted for almost 23% of all vehicles produced at Škoda Auto’s Czech plants.

Adapting the line for the Peaq required significant engineering work, as the vehicle is the largest model Škoda Auto has produced since becoming part of the Volkswagen Group.

The company introduced larger production skids to improve ergonomics and workplace safety.

A new manipulator was also added to support installation of the third row of seats.

Targeted upgrades were also made in the press shop, body shop and paint shop to maintain smooth material flows during production.

The Peaq shares the Modular Electric Drive Matrix, or MEB, platform with the Enyaq and Elroq.

This enables production synergies with both models already manufactured in Mladá Boleslav.

The new Peaq is available with two battery options.

The top version features a 91 kWh gross battery capacity, equal to 86 kWh net, enabling a range of more than 640 kilometres.

A 63 kWh version, equal to 59 kWh net, is also available.

Customers can choose from three power outputs ranging from 150 kW to 220 kW, with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

At 4.87 metres long and with a wheelbase of almost three metres, the Peaq is Škoda’s largest and most spacious SUV.

It is also the brand’s first model in the large SUV segment.

As Škoda’s new flagship SUV, the Peaq introduces several features new to the brand, including flush door handles, a panoramic roof with Dynamic Shade Control and bidirectional charging.

The launch of Peaq forms part of a broader expansion of Škoda Auto’s electric vehicle portfolio in 2026.

Together with the Škoda Epiq, an entry-level urban crossover produced in Pamplona, Spain, the Peaq doubles the brand’s all-electric model range.

The Epiq is produced under the Volkswagen Group’s Brand Group Core Electric Urban Car Family project.

Škoda Auto said the new electric models will support the company’s strong position in the European automotive market, where it ranked as the second-best-selling brand in the first half of 2026.

Through the start of Peaq production in Mladá Boleslav, Škoda Auto is strengthening its electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities, expanding its SUV portfolio and reinforcing the role of its Czech plants in the brand’s transition toward broader all-electric mobility.
