Skanska lands a New York subway contract

(PRESS RELEASE) STOCKHOLM, 11-Oct-2022 — /EuropaWire/ — Skanska (STO: SKA-B), a world leading project development and construction group, and its joint venture partner  Railroad Construction Company, a major general contractor on the East Coast of the United States, have announced a new contract with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, s a public benefit corporation responsible for public transportation in the New York City metropolitan area, for the improvement of a few subway stations in New York, NY, United States. The contract, worth in Skanska’s part some USD 150 million, (~SEK 1.5 billion and EUR 154 million), will be included in the US order bookings for the third quarter 2022.

Skanska will make improvements on the Flushing Line, including repair improvements at the 61st Street-Woodside station, replacement of existing escalators at the 61st Street-Woodside station and the 74th Street Broadway station and additional repairs between 48th Street and 72nd Street in Queens.

Work began September 2022 and expected completion is May 2025.
