Simple Energy Deepens Siemens Software Use to Manage Complex Electric Two-Wheeler Development

Simple Energy has expanded its adoption of Siemens’ cloud-based software solutions to support advanced product engineering and digital transformation as the company scales its electric vehicle portfolio.

The Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer is using Teamcenter X for product lifecycle management and Designcenter X for advanced vehicle engineering, while also leveraging Teamcenter X product configurator capabilities to manage complex vehicle variants and enterprise-level bills of materials. The expanded software environment supports large assemblies, advanced surface design, 3D electrical routing, harness design, variant configuration and a “150 percent BOM” approach for managing multiple vehicle options. Siemens said the adoption gives Simple Energy an integrated digital thread for vehicle engineering and lifecycle management, helping improve collaboration, accelerate innovation and support the company’s growth targets.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 5-Aug-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Siemens has announced that Simple Energy, an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has expanded its adoption of cloud-based software from the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio to support advanced product engineering and digital transformation as the company scales its electric vehicle portfolio.

The expanded adoption will help Simple Energy develop more sophisticated electric vehicle variants, manage complex assembly and variant design, and accelerate time to market.

Simple Energy is using a broader set of Siemens software solutions, including Teamcenter® X for product lifecycle management and Designcenter™ X for advanced vehicle engineering.

The company is also using advanced product configurator capabilities in Teamcenter X to manage complex vehicle variants and enterprise-level bills of materials.

Siemens said the integrated digital environment enables Simple Energy to improve collaboration across engineering teams while maintaining flexibility and cost efficiency.

Kiran Poojary, Chief Technology Officer at Simple Energy, said that as the company’s products scale in complexity, it is strengthening the systems behind how they are built.

He said Teamcenter X and Designcenter X allow Simple Energy to manage complex variants and large assemblies with greater speed and control, helping the company accelerate development without compromising agility.

Simple Energy initially adopted Teamcenter X to establish a centralised product data management backbone and improve collaboration across engineering functions.

As its electric vehicle programmes matured, the company expanded its use of Siemens software to support enterprise bill of materials management and variant configuration.

This includes a “150 percent BOM approach”, which provides a master, configurable bill of materials containing all possible components, options and variants for a product family.

Teamcenter X can then help Simple Energy configure specific 100 percent BOMs for individual customer orders, enabling more efficient management of multiple vehicle variants.

To address increasing design and assembly complexity, Simple Energy has also extended its engineering environment by replacing its legacy 3D CAD capabilities with Designcenter X.

Designcenter X integrates with Teamcenter X and supports advanced surface design, large assembly performance, 3D electrical routing and harness design.

The extended software adoption is intended to help engineering teams work more efficiently as product complexity increases.

Siemens’ value-based licensing model also enables Simple Energy to scale software usage in line with business growth.
