Sigma Launches E-Commerce with Intershop as a SaaS Solution

Jena, Germany and Stockholm, Sweden, 9-11-2012 — /europawire.eu/ — As a planned next step in the recently announced partnership, Sigma is now launching e-commerce Intershop as a Service, a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution based on Intershop.

“An important reason why we opted for Intershop, besides the platform’s market-leading performance and scalability, is that Intershop’s systems architecture allows a setup tailored for SaaS solutions. We can now offer the market an enterprise e-commerce solution. This means that we deliver a comprehensive solution with all components included: design, implementation, user interface, operation, and maintenance”, says Fredrik Lundkvist, CEO at Sigma Systems Innovation.

“We offer start-up solutions for a quick launch. Additionally, the platform has depth, flexibility and scalability that is superior to other systems on the market. This is essential as e-commerce solutions often grow in complexity over time because of new and currently unknown needs”, Fredrik Lundkvist continues.

“Intershop has a very strong track record solving customer requirements with their product. We have great confidence in the Intershop e-commerce platform. With this competent product and our delivery capabilities, we can deliver solutions to customers throughout the Nordic region. In addition, we will offer our service and SaaS solutions to Intershop and its other partners in Europe”, says Fredrik Larsson, who is responsible for the partnership at Sigma.

“Delivering e-commerce software as a service is gaining in importance, especially for those businesses who do not want to invest in own IT infrastructure from the start. But also customers looking for maximum flexibility for their roll-out and internationalization projects, should consider SaaS solutions as a valuable option. Online retailers who decide on Sigma’s Intershop as a service offering will not only benefit from the easy and cost-effective access to a high-performance e-commerce platform with extensive customization and integration capabilities. Sigma’s proven first-class delivery capacity in implementation projects and their deep knowledge of retailer’s needs and requirements will also give their customers the certainty to have all it takes at hand for implementing a successful e-commerce initiative”, says Jochen Moll, CEO at Intershop.
