(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 10-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Siemens Mobility and Technis have signed a partnership agreement to establish local maintenance capabilities for future Vectron locomotive operations in France.

Under the agreement, Siemens Mobility will use Technis’ network of eleven maintenance sites across France to provide service access once Vectron locomotives begin operating in the French market.

The partnership brings together Siemens Mobility’s Vectron platform expertise, digital maintenance tools, spare-parts logistics and European service network with Technis’ established industrial footprint in France.

Technis will contribute nationwide workshop coverage, mobile maintenance teams and nearly 500 specialised employees. This will allow Siemens Mobility to rely on existing local infrastructure and provide future Vectron operators with service support close to their operations and along key French rail corridors.

Elmar Zeiler, Chief Executive Officer Customer Services at Siemens Mobility, said the French rail market is important for the continued growth of the Vectron platform in Europe.

“This partnership marks a milestone in preparing best-in-class service capabilities for future operations in France,” said Zeiler. “By leveraging Technis’ established local maintenance locations and combining it with Siemens Mobility’s Vectron expertise, digital tools and spare-parts logistics, we are creating a strong foundation for high fleet availability and long-term operational performance.”

Technis’ maintenance sites include locations in Lens, Dijon and Thionville, which are positioned on major French freight and passenger routes. Their integration into Siemens Mobility’s wider European service network will support a scalable maintenance model for future Vectron fleets in France.

Tristan Rouzès, President of Technis, said the Vectron has already become a major success across Europe and that Technis is ready to support its future operation in France.

“The Vectron is already a true success story across Europe, and we are eager to see it operating in France,” said Rouzès. “Technis is ready to welcome it and support it across the country.”

He added that Siemens and Technis share a commitment to high-quality customer service and to supporting the growth of rail freight as part of the transition to more sustainable transport.

Siemens Mobility already supports Vectron maintenance across Europe through predictive maintenance and diagnostic tools developed within the company over many years. Its service offering also includes a centralised spare-parts logistics system with access to more than 8,000 part references.

For future operations in France, spare-parts availability will be supported through MoBase, Siemens Mobility’s digital spare-parts platform. The platform enables efficient identification, ordering and supply of parts for maintenance activities.

These capabilities are designed to reduce downtime, optimise fleet availability and support reliable locomotive operations.

The partnership strengthens Siemens Mobility’s position in the French rail market and supports the continued development of the Vectron locomotive platform across Europe.
