Siemens Launches Unified AI-Powered Simcenter Portfolio to Accelerate Engineering Simulation

(IN BRIEF) Siemens has released the latest version of its Simcenter software portfolio, introducing AI-powered simulation, GPU acceleration and more connected multiphysics workflows to help engineers evaluate designs faster and earlier in the development process. The release is the first to bring together Siemens and Altair simulation technologies in a unified portfolio. Siemens said this will help engineering teams reduce complexity, apply simulation more broadly and improve decision-making across disciplines. Key updates include broader integration of Simcenter PhysicsAI, Siemens’ geometric deep learning technology that can help engineers evaluate design concepts up to 1,000 times faster than traditional solver simulations. The release also introduces Simcenter PhysicsAI Generate, which uses physics-aware generative AI to create new design concepts based on target dimensions, performance KPIs and historical data. Other enhancements include multi-GPU support in Simcenter STAR-CCM+, integration of Simcenter Simsolid with Designcenter for meshless simulation directly on CAD geometry, and improved multiphysics workflows for applications such as electric powertrains, motor cooling and battery thermal behaviour.

(PRESS RELEASE) MUNICH, 29-Jul-2026 — /EuropaWire/ — Siemens has announced the latest release of its Simcenter software portfolio, introducing major enhancements designed to help engineers accelerate simulation workflows, evaluate more design options and make better-informed decisions earlier in the product development process.

The new release brings together Siemens and Altair simulation technologies in a unified simulation portfolio for the first time.

By aligning these technologies within consistent workflows, Siemens aims to help engineering teams apply simulation more broadly, reduce complexity and improve decision-making across disciplines.

The enhanced Simcenter portfolio includes expanded AI-driven simulation capabilities, GPU acceleration and new multiphysics workflows.

These updates are intended to give engineers earlier insight, improve productivity and reduce development risk as engineering systems become more complex.

Sam Mahalingam, Executive Vice President, Simulation, at Siemens Digital Industries Software, said the future of engineering depends on how quickly organisations can turn insight into action.

He said Siemens has brought together simulation capabilities across physics domains, connected them through shared workflows and made simulation more accessible.

Mahalingam added that the unified portfolio will help customers explore more possibilities earlier, scale simulation across teams and accelerate innovation with greater confidence.

The latest Simcenter release includes AI-based capabilities designed to reduce reliance on time-intensive simulation runs.

These tools help engineers identify the most promising design concepts earlier and deliver results much faster than traditional workflows.

Siemens said this allows engineering teams to iterate more quickly while reserving detailed simulation for areas where it delivers the greatest value.

A central element of the release is the wider integration of Simcenter PhysicsAI across the Simcenter portfolio.

Simcenter PhysicsAI is Siemens’ geometric deep learning technology, which converts simulation data into high-fidelity predictive models.

The technology enables engineers to evaluate more concepts and make confident design decisions up to 1,000 times faster than traditional solver-based simulations.

Data and models generated with Simcenter PhysicsAI can also be used by Siemens Intelligence Center X, the company’s industrial AI orchestration software.

When integrated into Simcenter Inspire, PhysicsAI enables engineers to predict results across a broad range of analysis and production processes.

These include general-purpose structural analysis as well as casting, moulding, die stamping and extrusion processes.

Siemens has also extended PhysicsAI capabilities inside Simcenter Hypermesh, supporting more efficient data training and greater confidence in simulation results.

With the addition of multi-GPU support in Simcenter STAR-CCM+, Simcenter PhysicsAI can train AI models from computational fluid dynamics simulations significantly faster.

Siemens said this can deliver speed improvements of 10 times and beyond, helping engineers iterate with greater confidence.

The release also introduces Simcenter PhysicsAI Generate, a physics-aware generative AI capability that allows teams to create new design concepts in seconds.

Using existing knowledge and product data, the tool can generate new concepts based on target dimensions, performance KPIs and historical training data.

Siemens said this removes barriers to broad design-space exploration by grounding generative AI outputs in real physics.

The latest Simcenter updates also bring simulation earlier into the design process.

Through the integration of Simcenter Simsolid with Siemens Designcenter for advanced product engineering, engineers can evaluate performance directly on 3D CAD models with minimal preparation.

Designcenter geometry can be transferred to Simcenter Simsolid, where loads and constraints are added and simulations are run directly on the geometry without creating a mesh.

This allows designers to assess performance in minutes rather than hours.

Siemens said these capabilities help shift simulation from a later-stage validation activity into an earlier design decision-making tool.

The release also advances Siemens’ goal of building a comprehensive multiphysics simulation portfolio.

New and improved connections between multi-domain simulation technologies are designed to support more holistic design exploration across complex systems.

For example, engineers can link electromagnetic, thermal and system simulation workflows more seamlessly to gain earlier insight into the performance of electric powertrain systems.

New capabilities include exporting reduced motor models from Simcenter Flux into system and 3D simulation tools.

Enhanced multiphysics simulation in Simcenter STAR-CCM+ also supports improved accuracy in areas such as motor cooling and battery thermal behaviour.

These capabilities are intended to improve collaboration across multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Siemens said the new Simcenter release supports a more connected and AI-enhanced approach to simulation within the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio.

By enabling a continuous flow of insight across design, validation and operation, the portfolio aims to help organisations increase engineering speed, reduce development risk and deliver higher-performing products.

The latest release positions Simcenter as a unified simulation environment for engineering teams seeking to combine AI, multiphysics simulation, GPU acceleration and connected workflows across the product lifecycle.
