SGS highlights its commitment to sustainability through new Sustainability Solutions framework

We are committed to adding Value to Society through our own operations to enable a better, safer and more interconnected world. We also seek to use our global reach and expertise to support our customers on their own sustainability journey, whatever their level of maturity in this process.

To highlight our commitment to sustainability we introduce our Sustainability Solutions, unifying our comprehensive range of services under one framework. This gives greater visibility to our customers of our services that add Value to Society across value chains. It also enables us to quantify and track revenue from sustainable activities and helps in our process of measuring the value to society that these services provide.

The TIC industry is at an early stage in its development of new sustainability solutions. Our framework will include our existing Sustainability Solutions and our key focus areas for the development of new services: ESG Assurance Services, Energy Transition and Responsible Supply Chain and Traceability.

Supporting our customers to implement sustainable, safer and efficient processes within their value chains, our Sustainability Solutions are framed across six sustainable pillars: Resources, Energy, Production, Infrastructures, Living and Business Practices.

This framework is aligned with the Principles for Responsible Investment and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, which are emerging as the basis for a common language for companies to evaluate their positive social and environmental impact. We will also align it to the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities when the criteria of inclusion becomes clear.

Having a detailed view on the revenue we generate through our Sustainability Solutions positions us a step closer to our ultimate goal of quantifying in monetary terms our Value to Society in a holistic way, across our supply chain, operations and services, and helps us to take more integrated decisions.
