SGS buys majority stake in a Canadian company active in the amine treating and sulfur recovery industries

(PRESS RELEASE) GENEVA, 26-Nov-2021 — /EuropaWire/ — SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in Sulphur Experts Inc. to add up to its Sustainability Solutions. Headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the acquired company is a highly recognized provider of process engineering consulting, specialized testing and training activities for the amine treating and sulfur recovery industries optimizing performance and reducing their impact on the environment.

With its expertise and technologies, Sulphur Experts helps the industry increase operational optimization and reliability through a combination of on-site sampling and expert engineering analysis. Its research and development team continues to develop innovative analytical and engineering methods to enhance the processes associated with carbon dioxide and sulfur removal, which will enable our clients to meet increasingly demanding regulatory requirements.

With offices in Canada, US and the Netherlands, the company currently employs approximately 50 people including engineers, scientists, technologists and support personnel, and generates annual revenues of c. CAD 12 million.
