Several music school orchestras will perform on the open-air stage of the Mercedes-Benz Museum on 20 May 2017

With “hp culture and orchestral sounds” as the motto, on 20 May 2017 orchestras from Baden-Württemberg and Slovenia will be the guests on the open-air stage of the Mercedes-Benz Museum. The programme is part of the 2017 Regional Music School Day in Stuttgart and takes place from 11 a.m. to 4.45 p.m.. At the same time the Mercedes-Benz Museum is also celebrating its eleventh year at this location next to the Untertürkheim plant. On Sunday, 21 May 2017 there is an open day with free entry.

STUTTGART, 15-May-2017 — /EuropaWire/ — Like music to the ears: on 20 May 2017 several music school orchestras from the entire federal state plus an orchestra from Slovenia with committed young musicians will be performing on the open-air stage of the Mercedes-Benz Museum. The concert programme as part of this year´s Baden-Württemberg Regional Music School Day starts at 11 a.m.. The groups playing are the Gmünder Kurorchester (Schwäbisch Gmünd), the Sinfonietta Karlsruhe, the Gemischte Bläserensemble (Mixed Wind Ensemble) from the Herrenberg Music School, the Herrenberg Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Leinfelden-Echterdingen Youth Orchestra and the Sinfonieorchester der Jugendmusikschule Schorndorf und Umgebung e.V. (Symphony Orchestra of the Youth Music School Schorndorf and the surrounding areas). The Symphony Orchestra of the Nazarje Music School from Slovenia with two line-ups is also appearing as a guest. Should the weather conditions not permit an appearance on the open-air stage, the ensembles will perform in the “Passage” area inside the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

These concerts also represent a birthday serenade for the Mercedes-Benz Museum, which was opened 11 years ago. To mark this occasion, on Sunday, 21 May 2017, all visitors will also receive free admission to the permanent exhibition and to the interactive special exhibition “EY ALTER”, which has already thrilled 100,000 visitors since it began in October 2016.

Music of all genres is a fixed item on the events agenda at the Mercedes-Benz Museum. This is also highlighted by the Mercedes-Benz Concert Summer on the new open-air festival stage at the Museum, featuring well-known pop and hip-hop artists. The festival is being held for the first time from 29 June to 2 July 2017.

The Mercedes-Benz Museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 6 pm. The ticket counter always closes at 5 pm.
