Senior EBRD banker assumes new role in Kiev on 1 June

3-4-2013 — /europawire.eu/ — The EBRD has named Sevki Acuner as the Bank’s Director for Ukraine. Mr. Acuner, who previously held the position of EBRD Deputy Country Director for Turkey, is replacing Andre Kuusvek, who has been appointed Director of Local Currency and Capital Markets Development at the EBRD’s headquarters in London and who had been Director for Ukraine since 2008.

During his 17-year career at the EBRD, Mr. Acuner held senior management positions in the Credit Risk and Agribusiness departments before being appointed to Turkey in 2009. He will start his new assignment on 1 June 2013.

Prior to joining the EBRD, Sevki Acuner worked at the Central Bank of Turkey, the Bank of Montreal and the Royal Bank of Canada in various countries in North America and Europe.

Mr. Acuner is a Turkish national and holds a BSc in Management from Bosporus University, Istanbul, and an MBA from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.

The EBRD is the largest financial investor in Ukraine. As of 31 March 2013 the Bank had committed over EUR 8.63 billion (USD 11 billion) through 337 projects in Ukraine.
